Alice French, PhD, Age 67
Fifteen years ago, I retired from a career in broadcast and cable television during which time I interviewed thousands of people. My interest in the people around me remains strong. Two of my favorite authors, Studs Terkel and Po Bronson, write about real people, and they inspire me. I find aging a fascinating adventure and want to know how others are making the journey, and I want to write their stories.
Since retiring, I have been a caregiver to my father, my mother, and my husband who have all passed away now. It was my pleasure to care for them, and I took away valuable lessons about aging from those experiences. Today, I enjoy my passions: writing, reading, technology, and socializing with friends and family.
I am so interested in what you are doing – I am developing a retreat program for 60’s and over. I live in Zimabwe where the land resettlement program has rendered so many people homeless and in some cases destitute in their old age after taking life times and in many cases generations to build wealth and farm land
